Asset governance across the ownership lifecycle.

Independent representation at every stage of ownership, with decision rights retained by the Owner and the family office.

Governance of the yacht itself: its programme, budgets, decisions and records.

  1. Acquisition

Review of candidate yachts, coordination of the technical and legal due diligence carried out by the Owner’s advisers, and technical and commercial input to a transaction led by the Owner’s lawyers and broker.

  2. New build

Owner’s representation from appointment to handover: construction oversight, budget and change control, and delivery readiness, with the appointed Chief Engineer involved early.

  3. Operations

Oversight of the management company and of the yacht’s operating budgets, maintenance planning and charter programme, reported to the Owner on an agreed cadence.

  4. Refit & conversion

Scope definition, yard tender and comparison, design coordination, budget, programme and change control, quality assurance and delivery readiness.

  5. Divestment

Sale preparation, coordination of the Owner’s appointed broker, technical and commercial input to a transaction led by the Owner’s lawyers, and handover.

A mandate may commence at any stage

Governance principles.

The same four principles apply at every stage, whatever the scope of the mandate.

  • Independent representation

Recommendations on the yacht programme, made in the interest of the Owner, as client under the mandate.

  • Retained decision rights

Material decisions rest with the Owner, supported by options, evidence and a reasoned recommendation.

  • Financial transparency

Budgets, commitments and exposures reported on an agreed cadence.

  • Institutional memory

Decisions and their rationale documented and carried forward across the ownership lifecycle.

New build and refit, in depth.

Seven service areas. Twenty-one recurring activity types.

Each area has a lead and a defined coverage across the programme. Activity types describe recurring work — not task volumes or hours.

Two contexts, the same Owner-side controls.

  • New build

    From control setup to handover.

Design review, construction interfaces and specialist inspections, then final outfitting, trials and handover — with the appointed Chief Engineer involved early.

  • Refit

Controls scaled to the refit scope.

Technical survey, design coordination, financial and change control and delivery readiness, applied to the refit scope.

Four pillars, seven service areas.

  1. Owner’s representation & coordination

The Owner’s priorities and decision options, with one point of coordination for the yard, designers and suppliers.

    Areas
    01 Owner’s representation
    02 Project coordination
  2. Technical & design oversight

Specifications, drawings and inspections under the agreed plan, with design conformity followed from workshop to on board.

    Areas
    04 Technical survey
    05 Design coordination
  3. Financial & change control

Baseline and forecast exposure, variations, credits and Owner supply, reviewed on evidence before any authorised decision.

    Area
    03 Financial & change control
  4. Delivery readiness & handover

A readiness plan and evidence dossier, manuals, spares and training, and a handover package that tracks remaining issues.

    Area
    07 Delivery readiness

Area 06, AI agent coordination and QA, supports all four pillars. See Owner reporting.

Three phases, one continuous mandate.

Specialists are engaged where their expertise is needed, for the agreed scope and period. The timing of each phase follows the project programme.

Example: a 51-month new build

  1. Control setup and design review

    Months 1 to 8

  2. Construction interfaces and specialist inspections

    Months 9 to 39

  3. Final outfitting, trials and handover

    Months 40 to 51

Continuous throughout the mandate

  • Owner’s representation
  • Project coordination
  • Financial & change control
  • Reporting to the Owner

What is watched, and when.

Technical survey runs continuously. Design coordination moves from review to onboard conformity. Delivery readiness builds towards handover. Site visits follow the agreed inspection plan.

Example: a 51-month new build
Track Detail When
Technical survey
  • Design / hull survey
  • Pre-outfitting
  • Yard outfitting
  • Trials
Continuous, with changing focus, months 1 to 51
Design coordination & interior conformity
  • Design review
  • Workshop and onboard conformity / quality
Design review in months 1 to 8; conformity from month 15, provisional, see the note below the table
Delivery readiness & handover
  • Preparation
  • Handover focus
Months 40 to 51
Chief Engineer
  • ASYA-managed, separately Owner-funded
Early involvement, in this example from month 28

*M15 provisional. Timing and attendance are agreed in the written mandate.

The Chief Engineer is appointed early and knows the yacht before delivery.

Managed and coordinated by ASYA, funded separately by the Owner.

When the Chief Engineer joins, and how intensively, is defined for each project.

  • During construction

    System knowledge and build familiarisation

  • At delivery

Manuals, spares, training and handover conditions

  • In operation

Continuity onboard and informed warranty follow-up

Entry timing and duties to be agreed. Any ASYA post-delivery services require a separate agreement.
